Why did you choose this home?

"We moved back from Melbourne and with a new baby we wanted a place big enough for our family so we decided to build something that we could build family memories in over the years."

Is the home easy or ideal for entertaining and why?

"We have had many great gatherings at our place! With lots of living areas, we could put the kids in the lounge room, and we could close off that space, giving the adults space as well. That way, we can have many loud discussions about footy and politics, without the kids whinging we are too loud. We could spread out over the family room and outside entertaining area, perfect for large parties!"

What is the best part about living in the home?

"We loved sitting out the front on the veranda, with a glass or two of wine, watching the kids ride their scooters around the park across the road as the sun went down.

Also loved that the kid's rooms are so big that they would entertain their friends in a separate area, and we still had the main family room to watch TV while they played noisily elsewhere. The family room has enough room for a large dining table, we have played many a game of Trivial Pursuit with the kids too.

No arguments over what to watch on TV, if you want to watch a movie and I want to watch the Footy, the huge lounge/theatre room comes in handy. The kids love playing the Xbox in there on the huge television!"

Any aspect of the home that gets the winter sun or is cooler in summer or warmer in winter?

"The filtered light in the family room is fantastic on winter days, when its sunny outside. Indoor plants thrive in this area. It is good to be able to zone off the air-conditioning in summer so the main living area of the house gets cool on hot summer nights."

What do you like about the location?

"The location is fantastic. We can walk to Marion at Christmas time, so we don't have to get a park when it is crazy.

I take the dog, Indie, for beach walks and it takes 6 minutes to get there! I can take her before work in the morning when summer arrives, she loves it."

What is your favourite part of the home?

"The family room. It allows us all to be doing something different while sharing the same area. Kids cook Brownies in the kitchen, and we can sit watching the footy or a movie."

Anything in particular you like or designed in the outdoor area?

"I love having breakfast under the Alfresco in the morning when it is chilly but sunny. I can sit at the table, read the paper and enjoy the birds in the trees while I have my breakfast."

Any work you have completed on the property and anything about that you can tell us?

We love the contemporary style of the home that is a neutral palette. This allows me to change colour on accent pieces in all the rooms when the seasons change.

Room sizes?

"Massive! The kid's rooms are big enough for them to study, play and sleep in, with room to spare.
Lots of storage is such a bonus. The linen press is just huge and allows all of us to store the excess and keep the house without clutter."

What are your best memories?

"Many great parties over the years. Friends gathering at the kitchen bench and the dining table sharing lots of wine and lots of laughs. Kids playing together over at the park or up at the school oval."

What will you miss the most?

"Definitely, the wines on the front veranda watching the sun go down in summer, shaded by the tree. The long walks with the dog around to the parks in the area. Just lovely on a chilly, sunny winter afternoon."

The advantages of the location?

"Walking distance to Seaview High School and great parks in the area. So close to the beach."

What are some great features people may not notice at first glance?

"Great paved area out the back to put a fire pit on and stand around drinking a good red with friends."


"Absolutely amazing! Both neighbours are quiet and unobtrusive but always wave and say hello."

Other anything else you can tell us about the home, location or lifestyle?

"I wish I worked at Flinders Hospital as it would be a quick drive up Seacombe Road and I would be there in 5 minutes!"
