    Spending his early years growing up in Ireland, Gerard has called Australia home for the past 40 years and after an initial career as a Jeweller/Watchmaker, but with an obvious interest in mathematics during his schooling years, he made the transition to Real Estate Sales at the young age of 23. Having found his real passion, along with discovering his talent for communication & the ability to successfully negotiate any sale, Gerard took the next step towards business ownership and enrolled at the Western University of Sydney, where he completed a Business Degree along with his Full Real Estate Agents Licence. Gerard returned to Ballarat to open his own boutique agency of the same name and achieved great success, with the Office quickly expanding to be recognised as one of the top Real Estate Firms in the area. The decision to join the Harcourts Group of Agencies in 2010, ensured that the business would continue to grow whilst reaping the benefits of belonging to a large International firm, with a strong history of leadership and performance in the market place across many countries in the world. In more recent years Gerard has also gained extensive experience specialising in Land Sub-Division, Speculation Building and Special Project Developments. In 2011 Gerard joined an elite group of athletes who cycled from Melbourne to Brisbane to raise money for Cystic Fibrosis and he personally raised $26,000 (towards a total of $60,000) for this exceptional cause. The Harcourts Foundation (a registered non-profit organisation) along with Harcourts Ballarat, have donated to many local and national charities over the past years, with generous support for their fundraising efforts. His immediate goal is to grow the business to a staff of 30, reach a total of 1,000 properties managed, and continually maintain a strong presence in the Ballarat market whilst gaining the number one Sales Office for Harcourts both state wide and nationally. Gerard has been married to Margot for 25 years and their time away from the business is spent with their two children Stephanie & Patrick, following their various musical performances or enjoying their sporting exploits of cycling, boating or skiing.

    Margot has spent her earlier adult years developing a career in the Television Industry which included production roles, sales roles, program/publicity positions and on-air hosting roles, which provided her the opportunity to constantly tour many locations across the state as part of a Children’s Television Program, which gained her vast knowledge of the entire Victorian Region, not to mention the enormous personal profile that this exposure gained her prior to commencing in the Real Estate Industry. After the birth of her two children Stephanie & Patrick, Margot returned to study to complete her full Real Estate Agents’ Licence and upon graduating from Swinburne University in Melbourne she has been an individual member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria for the past 13 years. Margot has consistently played a very active role in the day to day operation of the Office since the business commenced back in February 1996, and in 2010 assisted with the transition to the Harcourts Group with enthusiasm and excitement for what lay ahead. Margot focuses primarily on Client Liaison and continually concentrates on developing good relationships with all clients who have & have had dealings with the office. She has completed several Harcourts Training Academy courses & attended numerous other Real Estate seminars along with many personal development training programs in her endeavours to improve all aspects of the business. Whilst always demonstrating a ‘Can Do’ attitude, Margot is continually readily available to sort out any communication issues with any Harcourts Client promptly and amicably. In recognition of the high stand of customer service continually provided, Harcourts Ballarat was awarded the prestigious Annual National Customer Service Award, presented at the Harcourts Annual Awards Gala Evening on the Gold Coast, which Margot hopes to receive again. When Margot is not spending time building the Harcourts Brand and assisting the Ballarat Team, she is enjoying time with Gerard and their two adult children and also frequently indulges in her other passion, Ballroom Dancing.

    Peter was born and raised in Ballarat and has been involved in many local clubs and charity groups during his adult life. His education at Ballarat Grammar was fundamental to the formation of his beliefs and values, and largely why he takes his commitment of providing support and assistance to the wider Ballarat community very seriously. A qualified Hairdresser, Peter owned and operated his successful salon for twenty years before making the transition into real estate as a Sales Agent for then named Cosgrave Real Estate, notching up 5 years of selling experience from 2006 - 2010. Considering his love for boating and the accessibility of the newly developed Queenscliff Marina, Peter jumps at the opportunity to venture out into Port Phillip Bay with friends on board whenever the weather conditions permit! And if he’s not on the water, he’s in the kitchen trying out new culinary delights! Ellie feels like a local, now that she has purchased property in Ballarat and has lived in the City for 7 years. She has strong connections with the REIV, as her father is currently a Board Member of the Real Estate Institute of Victoria and she herself, has been elected to the position of Ballarat Regional Area Representative for Property Managers as their representation at management committee meetings at the REIV in Melbourne. Samantha commenced her traineeship in Property Management and also spent 12 months as Jason Gigliotti’s personal assistant and receptionist for Harcourts Creswick which gave Samantha increased knowledge and awareness of the wider Harcourts cliental. Samantha has completed her Certificate 4 in Property Services and after 12 months travelling around Australia she has returned to Harcourts to manage her own property portfolio. Samantha lives with her partner Jason on their lifestyle property on the outskirts of Ballarat, which they are currently renovating. With a sound knowledge of all Harcourts landlords, Samantha is a valuable asset to the property management department. Growing up in small town Creswick, Chahli attended Loreto College Ballarat where she graduated in 2012. After working full-time as a Team Leader at a local restaurant during her gap year, Chahli made the move to Melbourne. Whilst pursuing a modelling career with a prestigious Melbourne agency, she began work at a popular cafe on the side. It wasn’t long before Chahli was promoted to Assistant Manager and discovered her passion for business and customer service. Chahli is a bubbly and hard-working individual and is loving her new role as Personal Assistant to Director and Business owner Margot Cosgrave. Outside of work, Chahli loves running and socialising with friends, in addition to working towards a Business Degree.

    Ballarat born and raised, ex hairdresser Matt Holton has always had a passion for the property market which saw him change career directions. With an insatiable appetite for learning, Matt has proved his diversity by working in practically every department and role within the business, therefore proving to be an all-rounder and after managing the Accounts & Administration area for over 12 months, he then took on a full time role within the Property Management department as a Leasing Agent and Administrator. His current role is to manage all areas of Administration relating to Tenants & Landlords and regularly assists business owners in an office management role. With well adjusted communication skills, coupled with the determination and positive attitude you’d expect of a top athlete, Matt’s work ethic is exemplary and he regularly needs to be told to ‘go home’ for a rest. Displaying loads of talent and ambition, Matt has the ability to undertake high calibre tasks within the business, considered well beyond his years & his experience. He continually takes extreme pride in everything he undertakes, and, completes all tasks to the highest of standards.
